Seppala Was Never In The Town Council Meeting
In the movie, Seppala was a constant presence as soon as the epidemic broke out. In the meeting that was held by the town council to determine the fate of Nome, he stayed in the saloon arguing with the town’s important figures over the best strategies to follow. His involvement in the decision-making wasn’t so fancy in real life.
The Cruelest Miles also disclosed that, although he was ultimately respected as Alaska’s best musher and seen as Nome’s major hope, he wasn’t really present in the town council meeting or active in their deliberations.
