At the end of the day, the “Togo” movie deserves its accolades for being a well-thought-out film that could even serve as a documentary for the events of the 1925 serum relay. They went as far as to portray Balto’s unfair fame and Seppala’s disdain of it. That part was also mostly accurate.

As Seppala had written about his thoughts of Balto being credited instead of Togo, he acknowledged that they all did their best. However, when the country was roused to enthusiasm over the serum run driver, he resented the statue of Balto because if any dog merited special mention, it was Togo.
