Asleep on a Raft

Floating on the water can be oddly therapeutic. Something about the buoyancy effect of the eater can help relax the muscles and relieve all tension and tightness in them. And all of these internal functions require no conscious input, so one might as well take a nap.
We only reserve such advice for people in controlled environments like floating tanks, though. It would be foolhardy to attempt the same thing out in the ocean, which is why we’re surprised at Joan Mahon. After working a night shift, the last place she should have gone is the beach. It’s only by sheer luck that she lived to tell the tale.
