An Unplanned Swim on the Job
Dutch journalist Martje Oesterholt must have relished the opportunity to interview the Mayor of Kampen in 2014. After all, it’s not every day you get such an opportunity. However, what should have been a stepping stone for her career ended in a memorable blooper.
As she got to his side on the boat, she asked him a question. Unfortunately, she leaned on a rope that couldn’t support her and fell into the river. Luckily for her, the mayor offered to save her with his chain. And a crew member offered to rescue her with the boom mic, but in the end, a floater did the trick.
