Karen knew the only way to get a keycard was from the security room, where she suspected a few spares might be kept. Driven by desperation, she crafted a risky plan. As the guards made their rounds, she hugged the wall, praying for a stroke of luck. Miraculously, she managed to grab a keycard.
Heart racing, Karen hurried back to the baby’s room, swiped the card, and sighed in relief as the door clicked open. It had been too long since she last saw her child. Scanning the labeled units, she couldn’t find her baby—until she spotted a specific unit in the corner. Kneeling, she prepared for what awaited her.
