Michael Caine – Unknown Rank: 1951
Michael Caine embodies poise and prestige in Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies, but he’s had his share of harrowing experiences. In 1951, the actor was called up for national service in the British Army’s Royal Fusiliers. He was initially posted to serve in Germany at the end of the Second World War, but he transferred to Korea after a few months.
Unfortunately, two weeks of combat training couldn’t prepare Caine for the horrors he witnessed on the South Korean front. But thankfully, he survived the war, returning to become the Cockney icon we all know and love. He plays Harris Shaw in the 2021 movie “Best Sellers.”
