Sean Astin – The Goonies

Sean Astin scored his first acting role in 1981 with his television movie “Please Don’t Hit Me, Mom.” Astin showcased his genius on the big screen by playing Michael “Mikey” Walsh, the asthmatic leader of a rag-tag group of vagabonds in “The Goonies” alongside fellow actor Josh Brolin.

As the son of Oscar-winning actress Patty Duke, it was only a matter of time before Astin caught the acting bug himself and followed in his mother’s footsteps. In the early ’00s, his career kicked into a higher gear after being cast as Sam in “The Lord of the Rings” franchise. In September 2021, Astin joined Ali Larter in “The Man in the White Van.”
