Jerry Orbach, Died At Age 69, 1935-2004
Jerry Orbach was an actor from the olden days who worked both on and off-Broadway. He was known for roles such as El Gallo in “The Fantasticks,” Billy Flynn in “Chicago,” and Chuck Baxter in “Promises, Promises.” One of his last and most prominent works was as Detective Lennie Briscoe in “Law & Order.”
Even though he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1994, Orbach pulled through with treatments for a decade. On December 28, 2004, his body couldn’t fight anymore and gave in to cancer. The above was the last public photo of him captured at a “Law & Order” event.
