A Bumpy Celebration

Getting hitched involves bringing people together to make merry, and there are usually several occasions that allow folks to let loose before D-day. The groom’s stag party aims at helping him bid goodbye to singlehood. Dating back to the 5th B.C. Spartan soldiers gathered to celebrate while breaking bread and indulging in alcohol.
The same appears to have been happening when this picture was snapped, perhaps a toned-down version given the number of young guests present. In a tradition that involves lifting the guest of honor up, the Russian groom went through the ceiling. Hopefully, he didn’t end up with bumps or bruises on his head ahead of jumping the broom.
