Elijah Cummings (Born in 1951) – $1.3 Million
Elijah Cummings, a 1969 Baltimore City College Graduate, was also elected to the Maryland House of Delegates of the 39th district in January 1983 and continued in that position till January 1996. He was only the first African American in Maryland’s history to acquire the position of Speaker Pro Tempore, the House of Delegates’ second-highest post.
Cummings became a part of the U.S. House of Representatives from the 7th district of Maryland in April 1996. He also took the Chair of the House Oversight Committee in January 2019 until his death on October 17, 2019. At the time of his demise, his net worth was $1.3 million.
