Michael Carrick – £4 Million, Prestbury

Back in 2008, Michael Carrick and Mark Hughes were involved in a planning row. Carrick wanted to express himself more and planned to expand his Prestbury mansion, which was right next to Hughes’ estate. He bulldozed the house in Cheshire and built a £4 million mansion in its place.
Hughes decided to pack up and sell after Carrick constructed a seven-bedroom spread. The original house rose to two stories, and Carrick’s expansion plans involved raising it by another story. He has reiterated to his Manchester side, since he is now coach, of the need to express oneself on (and off) the pitch, even if it means bulldozing your opponents.
