At university, you can generally tell where you are on campus based on how everyone around you dresses. If you’re around the arts buildings, you can expect people to be wearing just about anything. You can expect a certain degree of cosplay.
Cosplay, a portmanteau of “costume play,” is defined as the practice of dressing up as a character from a film, book, or video game. There has been a rapid growth in the number of people who have taken up cosplay as a hobby, due to the cultural influence of Japan in the Western world.
