Jennifer Grey – Dirty Dancing
After an impressive showing in 1982 and 1984 with “Red Dawn” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” respectively, Jennifer Gray returned three years later with an acting masterclass in “Dirty Dancing.” In August 2020, Lionsgate Studios announced the reboot sequel of the original 1987 film, with Grey signing on as the lead and executive producer.
The original cult classic was a coming-of-age tale several decades ahead of its time, tackling serious issues like abortion that were considered taboo in most social circles during the ’80s. In a 2021 interview, Grey confirmed that the sequel would follow a similar route, discussing pertinent issues and empowering women.
