John Kani – Age 78
With a career spanning over five decades, it is no wonder that John Kani has appeared in many films. The South African actor, author, and playwright is best known for playing King T’Chaka in the ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’ films. A younger audience will probably identify Kani’s voice as that of Rafiki from ‘The Lion King.’
He is so good an actor that he has a ‘Tony Award’ for best actor as far back as 1970. An unusual fact about John is that he has one glass eye after an attack he endured during apartheid in South Africa. This does not, however, interfere with his stage performances.
