9/11 Had a Canine Hero

There’s a reason why dogs are known as man’s best friend. And this heroic guide dog makes it clear as day. On 9/11, Roselle and her blind owner, Michael Hingson, happened to be in the World Trade Center when the attack began. However, she was smart enough to lead him and a group of people down 1,463 steps to safety.
Of course, the group wasn’t in the best of spirits. But Roselle, the smart girl that she was, stopped once to kiss a woman who had a panic attack. Although she died in 2011, Hingson keeps her memory fresh in our minds with his books and talks.
