The Worst/Best Thing to Read in the Morning
What an interesting sign on a cemetery gate. And so rightly said. The sign is enough to bring the chills and make any person a God-fearing and law-abiding citizen. This is a memento mori, a reminder of death, that can be commonly seen on cemetery gates and often on gravestones.
Experiencing memento mori is a key practice among the Stoics from ancient Rome and Greece. The Stoic philosophy encourages positive emotions and enhances the beliefs of the followers in a virtuous character. And this sign here does the same thing.
