Children For Sale
The photograph shown here originally appeared in the Vidette-messenger of Valparaiso, Indiana, in August 1948. After the Second World War, American families were trying to cope with its aftermath. Most American men were left either jobless or dead.
This woman, in these times, decided to put her children up for sale. And she’s hiding her face while the reporter photographed them. However, as there’s always a ray of hope amidst the darkness, we hope she took them back. Another good thought would be if a lovely family chose to adopt these children instead.
