Pete Buttigieg, better known as Mayor Pete to the people of South Bend, Indiana, is steadily climbing the political ladder. In 2021, he became the United States secretary of transportation under the Biden administration. While that’s certainly a welcome promotion, it also meant that Buttigieg had to leave his home state and put his home up for sale.
Located just one street away from his childhood home, the neoclassical-style residence served as his base for years. According to the South Bend Tribune, Buttigieg bought the three-bedroom abode for $125k and even took out a second mortgage to upgrade it. Today, it’s valued at $255K.
