Paperwork proved the main challenge. The shelter employee explained that they normally wouldn’t release animals without verifying their identity. However, in this small town, adoptions had been scarce for months. Taking a risk, the employee made an exception for the Andersons. They couldn’t have foreseen what would happen next.
Despite potential consequences, the family focused on giving the puppy a home. After signing the necessary documents, Billy and Erica were overjoyed. It felt like destiny. The entire time they signed the papers, Tim played with their new family member, who slowly adjusted to the boy’s playful advances. They couldn’t wait to bring the pooch home.
