The First Night at Home

The family didn’t dwell on unknowns and went to bed after settling in. Blue had been asleep for an hour, so they felt comfortable leaving him. Everyone was tired after an exciting day. The final step of adoption was a vet visit the next day. After some much-needed rest, they would handle that.
It had been a while since the family felt so happy. While no one could fully replace Rio, the Andersons believed this blue-eyed puppy was perfect. Tim felt especially happy. Everything seemed smooth, and everyone hoped for years with Blue. But would their joy last as long as they hoped? The happy times were fleeting.
