Making Sense of the Dog’s Behavior

In retrospect, it made sense to Billy that Blue was so drawn to PCs, having spent so much time in the CEO’s office around them. The dog likely recognized the computer and felt a connection to it. Sitting in front of Billy’s PC might have made him miss his owner, causing him to howl.
It now explained why Blue had returned to the office door in the middle of the night, hoping to find the CEO. Billy realized that his behavior was rooted in longing for his former home, which made the family’s impending goodbye even more heartbreaking. They knew they had to let him go.
