Justice Just Went The Wrong Way

George Floyd’s death in 2020 caused a massive backlash against the authorities, accusing them of brutality especially when it comes to people of color. While his demise was unfortunate, it did open a debate on pressing matters, including the abuse of power and discrimination.
It did also help police officer Cariol Horne from attaining justice over a decade since she was axed from her job. In 2006, she jumped on her colleague who was holding a suspect, a man of color, on a chokehold. She was fired and was stripped of her pension but because of Floyd’s death, it was reinstated.
