They are Skilled
The Amish are frequently mistakenly thought to be farmers. While farming has long played a significant role in the Amish way of life and is supported by them because it fosters a sense of community, many people in their neighborhood also construct buggies, create harnesses and other leather goods, fix clocks, and work on engines. Others are employed in manufacturing, construction, and furniture making.
Interestingly, because many of their crafts are outlawed in Amish homes, these artisans mostly serve non-Amish clients. These individuals sell their skills outside, make money, and return to their modest lifestyles at home. Their work is praised as being exceptional and is in high demand.
