No Leftovers

American society wastes so much daily, while the Amish community can live simply and sustainably. Waste is not viewed as commonplace in Amish culture. They subscribe to the idea that things must be used up, worn out, and upcycled if possible before they’re abandoned.
They also don’t allow picky eaters when it comes to eating, and their children are instilled with the habit of being content and not wasting food from an early age. Even food that is going bad also has its uses. They either feed their animals with it or give it to their neighbor for that purpose, rather than discard it.
