They Have No Need for Electricity
Most Amish households do not have electricity because they feel that doing so would inevitably create a link to the outside world and could negatively impact their way of life. As a result, Amish people use different energy sources for many of their daily tasks rather than purchasing electricity from the public grid.
The utilization of propane gas, batteries, different generators, compressed air pressure, hydraulic pumps, and even solar panels are just a few of the many workarounds they’ve adapted. When absolutely necessary, particularly for business and emergencies, they do use power. However, they still prioritize controlling electricity use to save on bills.
