For the Amish, being frugal and resourceful is a way of life. While buying in bulk could lead to waste for other people, the Amish society has a way of taking care of itself. Before they think of discarding any clothes, they make sure it’s utterly unusable by anyone, and even then, they rip them into rags.
They also fix broken things, practice recycling, and feed foods past their prime to their animals. They adhere to the principle that everything has a function. Delaying gratification is a noble choice since it generates income they may utilize to buy large items like farms, houses, and animals.
