The Amish have traditionally maintained a modest lifestyle, which is evident in their attire. The women don identical plain garments covering their entire bodies without ornamentation, cosmetics, or accessories. The men likewise wear simply shirts and pants.
Although society may view the Amish’s fashion as archaic, they have maintained this look for various reasons. They think that by choosing to clothe themselves a certain way, individuals in the community are encouraged to be humble, and the group’s relationships are strengthened. Looking at the Amish way of life, we can’t help but start wondering if we really need all those garments.
