They Go on Honeymoons Without Breaking the Bank
The Amish don’t spend much on their honeymoons, in the same way that they don’t spend a great deal on their marriage ceremonies. Typically, a newlywed couple stays at the bride’s house for the first night and the following few months.
They also get up early the morning after the nuptials to assist clearing up the mess. The married couple resumes their jobs, and life continues much as before. Meanwhile, they spend some time visiting relatives and friends throughout the first few months. They finally move into their own home sometime the following season, and it usually doesn’t take them long to establish a family of their own.
