Madonna – Egypt

Generally, celebrities like Madonna are not interested in becoming entangled in Middle Eastern political unrest. However, the “Like a Prayer” singer quickly lost favor in the neighboring hostile nations of Egypt, Lebanon, and Syria after traveling to Israel to observe the Jewish New Year.
When Madonna attempted to enter the region of the Great Pyramids in 2004, she was turned away. Despite the fact that Madonna’s visit to Israel was not motivated by politics, Egyptian lawmakers demanded that the government deny Madonna any permits to enter their nation and prevent her from performing or filming any of her projects there.
