Led Zeppelin – Singapore
Believe it or not, In the ’60s, a Singaporean government policy prohibited any man from wearing long hair. The move was in response to the hippie movement’s increasing appeal on a global scale; the government saw this as a harmful influence that would hinder the nation’s progress.
This seemingly pointless measure had an impact on Led Zeppelin. Mainly because complicated riffs and men with long tresses were the focus of the iconic blues-rock group, and at least one of these things was illegal in Singapore. They were not even permitted to step foot outside of their private jet for their performance in 1972.
