Not All Tupperware Is Microwave-safe

Okay, so there is actually an interesting explanation for what happened here. If you leave the Tupperware-like container closed, then the steam coming from the food has nowhere to escape, so it heats the plastic, and the plastic, in turn, melts. However, the hot air also creates a high-pressure valve, so it sucks all the air inside the container.
Put the two together, and you have this new style of plastic container! However, making a hole inside will release the pressure because the cold air coming in will balance out the high pressure. Yes, everyone, learning about science is cool!
