Former President Bill Clinton’s years in office were filled with a fair share of controversies. Still, he was able to step up to the plate on April 23, 1995, when he delivered a heartfelt speech at the memorial service that followed the Oklahoma City bombing that killed 168 people.
Aligning himself with the city’s citizens in grief, Clinton managed to comfort the victims of the tragedy while also delivering a message of hope. Disaster recovery efforts soon followed, and millions of dollars were raised to benefit those affected by the attack.
