Jay-Z – China

The Chinese authorities barred Jay Z, a well-known and successful American rapper who is also Queen B’s spouse, from playing in Shanghai in October 2006 because his music has too many vulgar lyrics. They went on to say that lyrics involving firearms, criminals, and narcotics could readily contaminate young people’s minds and thinking styles.
But Jay Z had this performance on his bucket list and is eager to reschedule the performance and see his Shanghai supporters as a result. Given how many A-listers are prohibited from entering the country, China doesn’t appear to have many possibilities left for celebrity performances!
