Pogo – USA
Pogo, an Australian music producer, makes a living by fusing brief sound samples to form whole new, creative compositions in a genre known as plunderphonics. The poor artist was touring the United States in 2011 when he was discovered by local law enforcement to be ineligible for a work visa.
Pogo received a 10-year national ban and spent three weeks in jail since it is illegal for a foreigner to earn money doing live events in the United States. However, in an effort to escape his situation, he recorded a video online in which he begged for help overturning his entry restriction to the country.
