Peter Freuchen, The Real Most Interesting Man In The World

Remember those Dos Equis beer commercials? Well, as it turns out, there’s a real-life most interesting man in the world, and he had a great beard, too. Meet Peter Freuchen, an Arctic explorer who dropped out of the University of Copenhagen to travel the world.
Freuchen, pictured here wearing the fur of a polar bear he caught, notably learned from and hunted with the Inuit people in early 20th-century Greenland. He later went into journalism and joined the Danish resistance during World War II. In his later life, he found himself in New York City with his third wife and passed away there in 1957.
