Quinn

Quinn, a Canadian soccer player, coined their name at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics by becoming the first out, transgender, non-binary athlete to participate in the Olympics. And it gets even better—Quinn was the first to win and was the quickest to earn a gold medal!
Unfortunately, despite their incredible achievements, media outlets have still used their birth name when referring to them. They have spoken out about the importance of respecting trans individuals’ identities by using their correct names and pronouns. It’s crucial that people support and celebrate individuals like Quinn for who they are, both on and off the field.
