Technically a rollercoaster love story, the 1939 movie “Gone with the Wind” is based on the Margaret Mitchell book of the same title. Although teens may not appreciate an almost four-hour story, it does deserve a chance, given it was the first color film to have won an Oscar.
This Victor Fleming-directed film tells the story of Scarlett (Vivien Leigh), who was in love with Ashley (Leslie Howard), but the feeling wasn’t mutual. Because it was set during the Civil War, kids may get an idea of how things went during these hard times.
