Technically not a film for kids but for young adults, the French movie “A Summer’s Tale,” released in 1996 is a great depiction of how the young characters seemed to be too concerned about their self-image and how a romantic relationship can define one’s self-worth.
The story revolves around Gaspard on a summer escapade as he meets a waitress Margot, who became his friend during the period. He was introduced to her other pal, Solene, who ended up being attracted to him. In the end, Gaspard and Margot appeared to have developed feelings for each other but didn’t pursue the relationship.
