The late comedian Charlie Chaplin is considered one of the most celebrated comic artists of all time and one of the most influential. Many critics consider the 1931 movie “City Lights,” which he directed, produced, and starred in, as his most significant work, earning $4 million in rental earnings.
Although a silent movie, it pays to introduce the younger generation to a classic romance-comedy film that revolves around Tramp falling in love with a blind woman. He does everything to make her eye operation possible. The final scene, dubbed one of the best endings by some, had the lead character visiting the lady, who knew he was the benefactor.
