The 1995 family drama “A Little Princess” tells the story of a girl named Sara Crewe, who was sent to a boarding school led by headmistress Miss Minchin. While in the institution, the child learned that her father passed away in the war, and the headmistress’ treatment of the young lady suddenly changed.
There, Sara endured the hardships brought about by Miss Minchin while still believing that all girls are princesses. The film wasn’t as commercially successful as expected, but it garnered Oscar nods for its cinematography and art direction. The novel also inspired a remake in the Philippines called “Sarah … Ang Munting Prinsesa.”
