Strawberry Fields Forever, the Beatles, 1967, Psychedelic rock/Progressive pop
John Lennon, together with his band mates in the Beatles, created some of the most iconic songs in history. One is “Strawberry Fields Forever,” inspired by Lennon’s early childhood experiences in a Liverpool orphanage he used to play. Although he was hesitant to share it with the band due to its vulnerability, Paul McCartney urged its brilliance.
The band created three versions, and when they finally released it in 1967, it transformed how pop music was heard and made. Lennon considered “Strawberry Fields Forever” as his finest work with the Beatles, as noted by Rolling Stone. After his passing, a section in New York’s Central Park was named after the song.
