Paul Allen – Superyacht “Octopus”
By the time of his untimely death, investor and businessman Paul Allen was worth an impressive $21 billion. The billionaire owner of the Seattle Seahawks was also known to be an eccentric hobbyist and an enthusiast for electric guitars and expensive toys.
One such toy was his 414-foot superyacht “Octopus,” which went on sale in 2019 for an asking price of $325 million. Two years later, the majestic ship was finally sold to an anonymous buyer for $278 million in August 2021. With its two helipads, a cinema, eight decks, an elevator, and a glass observatory for gazing at underwater sea creatures, “Octopus” is truly one-of-a-kind.
