Bobby Murphy, an Internet entrepreneur/software engineer, co-founded Snap in 2011. Things were rocky for a while, but their stock price took off once they started earning some profit. He has been the driving force behind Snap’s focus on using augmented reality technologies in its signature app, the famous Snapchat.
The company uses a rather interesting structure where a community of third-party developers creates new features for users to engage with on the app for free. According to Snap, more than 200 million app users engage with its augmented reality tools daily.
