Simon Cowell – $600 million
The Guardian described Simon Cowell’s show “The X-Factor” as an old cruise ship that needs to be decommissioned at the port. Well, the show has slunk off-stage for good in 2021.
First gaining fame in the United States because of “American Idol,” which debuted in 2002, Simon Cowell has gone on to create a television empire that includes “America’s Got Talent” and “Britain’s Got Talent.” The problem with “American Idol” was that he didn’t own the show. He was just a very highly paid judge and producer. He, at least, still sits atop a $600-million fortune.
