Dr. Dre is rich, but if a big earner gets divorced, it is the surest way to decrease their total wealth dramatically. His ex-wife, Nicole Young, filed for divorce from Dr. Dre in 2020 after 24 years of marriage, and he’s been providing extensive spousal support and substantial legal fees in 2021.
After splitting with the successful rap group, N.W.A., where he rose to prominence, he began his successful solo career. He co-founded Death Row Records and later Aftermath Entertainment. However, the bulk of his wealth came from selling headphones and music subscription service Beats to Apple, earning roughly $500 million from the deal.
