The Northrop Grumman E-2D Advanced Hawkeye is a versatile aircraft, earning the nickname of “digital quarterback” of air missions due to its ability to manage the strike while also keeping other fleet members safe. Measuring 57 feet long and having a wingspan of 80 feet, the E-2D is powered by Rolls Royce turboprop engines, allowing it to lift up to 57,500 pounds upon take-off.
The E-2D is equipped with a variety of sophisticated sensors it can detect and track threats from afar. It also contains the latest navigation and communication systems, allowing it to direct other aircraft, such as fighters and bombers, to the most advantageous positions.
