Northrop Grumman RQ-4 Global Hawk – Cost: $99 Million

The Northrop Grumman RQ-4 Global Hawk is an impressive piece of machinery. Its capabilities include a flight ceiling of 60,000 feet, which is almost double that of a commercial plane. The concept for the drone was first demonstrated as early as 1995, and it has since been used for contingency operations since the early ’00s.
Capable of carrying up to 3,000 pounds of payload, while a basic RQ-4 costs almost $99 million, the price can go up to $220 million depending on its configuration. The range of this drone is almost 14,000 nautical miles, allowing for extended surveillance and reconnaissance missions with no need for refueling.
