USS America (LHA-6) – Cost: $3.4 Billion
The USS America (LHA-6) was developed by Northrop Grumman in 2014. Measuring 843 feet, the ship can host up to 3,000 personnel and is equipped with a variety of facilities, including the ability to both deliver and service aircraft, a hospital, fuel storage and aviation support areas.
This makes it an incredibly versatile warship, capable of serving transnational maritime forces in times of need. The USS America (LHA-6) has been used in various naval and military campaigns throughout the years. In 2019, it completed its first deployment to the Western Pacific Ocean participating in the multinational exercise, Valiant Shield, and visited ports in Japan, South Korea, and Guam.
