Northrop Grumman MQ-4C Triton – Cost: $180 Million

The Northrop Grumman MQ-4C Triton is of great value to the Navy due to its ability to fly 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, providing real-time intelligence. Costing over $180 million in 2018, it is powered by a Rolls Royce turbofan engine and has de-icing and lightning protection features, making it a reliable all-weather flyer.
The Triton is capable of long-range surveillance and can reach an altitude of 60,000 feet, giving it a range of over 8,200 nautical miles. It is equipped with an electro-optic/infrared sensor and Synthetic Aperture Radar which is used to detect, identify and track surface targets.
