The USS Gerald Ford is the world’s most expensive warship, costing a whopping $13 billion in 2020 according to Bloomberg. It is a massive vessel, measuring 250 feet high and 1,106 feet long when completed. The primary purpose of the Gerald Ford is to carry and transport aircraft, making it a powerful addition to the US Navy.
The warship’s first deployment in the Atlantic Ocean in October 2022 involved around 9,000 personnel from nine countries, sixty aircraft, and twenty ships. This state-of-the-art vessel has cutting-edge features such as electromagnetic catapults to launch planes and advanced weapons elevators that can transport bombs to the flight deck.
